Caafihealth and Macmillan Cancer Support are collaborating on this mission to increase cancer survival rates and improve experiences for Black and Minoritised communities.
Everyone’s experience of living with cancer is unique, but Cancer outcomes among black and minoritised communities are known to be the worse. Caafi health will work to amplify the needs of Black and Minoritized people living with Cancer in Inner City & East.
For the next three years this initiative provides tailored and accessible information and advocacy support to ensure these underserved communities receive the care they need.
People in the inner-city Bristol communities are less likely to get screened for cancer or to see a doctor about early warning signs. They are diagnosed with more advance cancer, resulting in poorer cancer outcome.
People may struggle to understand the information they are given or access the care they should have.
